Qwest Center Omaha is an arena and convention center facility in Omaha, Nebraska. The 1.1 million ft² facility has an 18,300-seat arena, a 194,000-ft² exhibition hall and 62,000 ft² of meeting space. The arena hosts various basketball and hockey games, conventions, car shows, and concerts, as well as the annual stockholder's meeting for Berkshire Hathaway. The Qwest Center is the home for the Creighton University Men's Basketball team and the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Men's hockey team.
During the middle of 2005, it was announced that the Qwest Center will also be hosting the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Swimming Trials in a temporary pool that will be set up inside the arena. In addition, the Qwest Center will host the first and second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in 2008.
The Qwest Center Omaha has earned many awards, including being ranked number 8 of 100 in Pollstar Magazine's study of top ticket selling arenas in the world in 2005. In 2004, the Qwest Center won the AMA marketing company of the year, and was nominated again for the award in 2005.
The Qwest Center was also ranked in the top 15 best arenas for attendance this season (2006-2007) by the NCAA; it averaged nearly 16,000 fans for every Creighton Bluejays game.
